This policy lists the cookies and browser storage VELMARX uses and why. In short: VELMARX uses only what's needed to run the service. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser and receives back on later visits. Local storage is a similar space in your browser that only the website's own pages can read; it isn't sent to the server automatically. We call both “technologies” below.

Some technologies are strictly necessary: the service can't work without them, such as keeping you signed in, or they store something you explicitly asked for, such as your theme. Others are optional, such as analytics or advertising, and may only be used with your permission where the law requires it.

What VELMARX uses

  • Sign-in cookies that keep you logged in and protect your session.
  • A cookie that remembers whether you chose “Remember me”.
  • A cookie that remembers your cookie choices.
  • Local storage entries that remember interface preferences you set yourself (theme, collapsed navigation, the role shown in the product preview).

All of these are set by VELMARX itself (first-party) and are strictly necessary, so they don't require consent and can't be switched off in cookie settings. You can still delete them in your browser, but you'll be signed out and your preferences reset.

Optional categories

Cookie settings offer these optional categories. None of them is used today:

  • Functional preferences: Optional technologies that remember extra choices or enable embedded features. Preferences you set yourself (like the theme) are part of the service and don't depend on this. Not in use.
  • Analytics: Statistics about how the site is used, to improve it. Not in use.
  • Marketing: Advertising or marketing measurement. Not in use.

If we ever add an optional technology, we'll list it here, it will stay off until you allow it, and we'll ask for your choice again. Allowing a category in cookie settings doesn't mean you agree to marketing emails or to anything else.

Third-party services

  • Paddle checkout. When you choose to pay for a subscription, the checkout page loads Paddle's checkout script from Paddle. Paddle may use its own cookies or similar technologies inside the checkout, for example for security and fraud prevention. See Paddle's Privacy Policy. This happens only when you open the checkout.
  • Images linked from other websites. If a recipe uses a photo link to another website, your browser loads it from there, and that website may set its own cookies under its own policy.
  • Hosting and database. Our hosting and database providers process each request to deliver the service but don't set tracking cookies through VELMARX.

Your choices

  • Change or withdraw your choices any time in cookie settings, opened from the button above, the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, or Settings → Privacy & data in the app. Withdrawing is as easy as allowing.
  • Your choices are stored for 12 months, after which we ask again. We also ask again if this policy changes in a way that affects them.
  • Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and site data in their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you from signing in to VELMARX.

More about how we handle personal information is in the Privacy Policy.
